The best aftermarket vented hoods for your WRX or STI are carbon fiber hoods with functional heat-extraction vents - they shed engine-bay heat and cut front-end weight while transforming the car's face. For a sleeper look, OEM-style carbon hoods keep factory lines; for aggression, vented and scooped designs make the statement.

A vented hood does real work. Openings and louvers let hot air escape the engine bay, which helps underhood temperatures stay in check during hard driving - useful on turbocharged cars that build a lot of heat. Carbon fiber hoods weigh noticeably less than the factory steel hood, and many are pin-on or bolt-on replacements that reuse factory hinges and latch hardware. Most options in this collection are available in gloss or matte carbon finishes, and JDMuscle's own Tanso carbon hoods pair heat-extracting vents with a range of carbon weaves.

Popular brands here include Seibon (CW-style, VS-style, and OEM-style carbon hoods) and VIS Racing (VS 2 and VRS style carbon hoods). Standout picks: the Seibon CW-Style Carbon Fiber Hood for 15-21 WRX/STI, the JDMuscle Tanso Carbon Fiber Hood V2 w/ Heat Extract, and the VIS Racing Carbon Fiber Hood VS 2 Style. Complete the look with Fenders & Flares, Trunks & Lids, Side Skirts, or the fitment-specific 2015-2021 WRX/STI Hoods - and read How Carbon Fiber Hoods Add Functionality and Style to Your Subaru.

Do vented hoods actually help cooling?

Yes, when the vents are functional - they give hot underhood air an escape path instead of trapping it around the turbo and intercooler. They're a complement to, not a replacement for, proper cooling upgrades.

Will an aftermarket hood fit like factory?

Most are designed as direct bolt-on replacements using factory mounting points, but carbon hoods may need minor adjustment and hood-pin installation is commonly recommended for high-speed safety - check the product notes.

Do I need a tune after installing a hood?

No. A hood changes no engine parameters, so no tune is required.

Is paint or clear coat needed on carbon hoods?

Carbon hoods ship with a finished clear coat that can be left exposed, or they can be paint-matched to your car. Follow the care tips in the linked maintenance guide above to keep the finish pristine.
