2015-2021 Subaru WRX/STI Hoods

The best hoods for a 2015-2021 Subaru WRX or WRX STI are carbon fiber hoods matched to your intercooler setup: a scooped, heat-extract style if you still run a top-mount intercooler, or a scoopless style if your car uses a front-mount intercooler. Every hood in this collection is built for the 2015-2021 WRX and STI, in OEM-style and vented designs from JDMuscle, Seibon, and VIS Racing.

A hood change on this chassis is both a weight and a heat decision. Carbon fiber panels reduce weight over the front of the car compared with the factory panel, while vents and heat extractors give hot engine-bay air a way out. The scoop matters just as much: top-mount cars need the scoop to feed the intercooler, so a scoopless hood only makes sense on a front-mount setup, exactly as the V3 listing states. Check panel gaps, latch fit, and clearcoat care before ordering, and browse the wider hoods and carbon fiber hoods ranges if your car is a different year. Check your year and model on each product page before ordering.

About the brands

JDMuscle leads this collection with its own carbon fiber designs for the 2015-2021 cars. The V2 adds heat extraction to the factory scoop layout, the V3 Scoopless is made specifically for front-mount intercooler cars, and a Spec C heat-extract version covers FMIC applications as well. A paint-matched V2 with carbon fiber vents, in multiple carbon weaves, serves drivers who want the venting without a full exposed-carbon look.

Seibon is the established carbon fiber specialist in this group, represented here by four distinct styles for the same chassis. Its CW-Style hood joins VS-Style and CS-Style vented designs, plus an OEM-Style hood for owners who want carbon construction in the factory shape. That spread makes Seibon the natural comparison if you are deciding between an aggressive vented look and a clean, stock-profile panel.

VIS Racing adds two more vented carbon options, the VS 2 Style and the VRS Style hoods for these cars. VIS is known in this store for carbon fiber body panels across Japanese platforms, and its designs here give 2015-2021 owners another vent layout to compare against the Seibon and JDMuscle shapes before committing to a style.

Frequently asked questions

Can I run a scoopless hood with a top-mount intercooler?

No. The top-mount intercooler depends on the hood scoop for airflow. Scoopless hoods in this collection, such as the JDMuscle V3, are listed for front-mount intercooler cars only.

Do these hoods fit both the WRX and the WRX STI?

The listings here are titled for the 2015-2021 WRX and WRX STI, which share this hood fitment. Confirm your exact year and model on the product page before ordering.

Is a carbon fiber hood hard to install?

Most owners treat it as a two-person job: the panel is light, but aligning hinges, latch, and panel gaps takes care. Professional fitting is a sensible choice if gaps or latch adjustment are unfamiliar.

How do I care for an exposed carbon fiber hood?

Wash it like painted bodywork, keep wax or a protectant on the clearcoat, and avoid harsh chemicals and constant direct sun.
