Goodridge Brake Lines

The best stainless steel brake lines for a WRX, STI, BRZ, or Civic Si are Goodridge's DOT-compliant PTFE-lined kits, built vehicle-specific so they connect directly to your factory hard lines with no flaring or adapters. They replace the soft rubber lines that swell under heat, giving a firmer pedal and more consistent bite on street and track.

Rubber lines flex under pressure — under hard braking the hose expands, soaking up pedal effort that should be clamping the calipers. Goodridge kits use a PTFE inner hose wrapped in braided stainless steel, so pressure reaches the pads instead of ballooning the line. The result is a firmer pedal, better modulation at the limit, and lines that outlast rubber in heat, UV, and oil.

Buy lines made for your exact year and model: line lengths and banjo fittings vary by chassis, so check your year and model before ordering. This collection also includes stainless clutch lines for 6-speed Subaru owners. Quality kits should be DOT compliant and ship with fresh banjos and crush washers.

Do stainless steel brake lines really make a difference?

Yes, mainly in pedal feel and consistency. They do not increase clamping force on their own, but they remove the rubber-line flex that makes the pedal feel mushy — most noticeable on track days or mountain runs.

Do I need to bleed the brakes after installing?

Yes. Opening the hydraulic system introduces air, so a full bleed — ideally a flush with fresh fluid — is required after any brake line install. It is also the perfect time to switch to a higher-boiling-point fluid if you track the car.

Will these fit my big brake kit?

In most cases, yes — lines attach at the factory hard-line junctions, which big brake kits leave alone. Still, check your year and model and confirm fitment for your exact setup before ordering.
