Subaru BRZ 2013-2021 Drivetrain Performance Parts

The best drivetrain upgrades for your 2013-2021 Subaru BRZ start with the parts that put power to the ground reliably — an Exedy OEM-spec flywheel for a fresh clutch job, Perrin driveshaft carrier bushings to cut driveline slop, and a quality shift knob for more precise shifts. These are the bolt-on pieces that make the FA20 drivetrain feel tighter without a rebuild.

Drivetrain mods bridge the engine and the wheels: clutches, flywheels, driveshaft components, bushings, and shifters. On the BRZ platform — the rear-wheel-drive chassis shared with the FR-S and 86 — small upgrades here pay off in feel. A fresh OEM-spec flywheel restores clean clutch engagement during a clutch replacement, while firmer carrier bushings reduce the thud and delay felt on throttle transitions.

The 2013-2021 BRZ drivetrain collection at JDMuscle includes flywheels like the Exedy OEM Flywheel TYF001, which is listed for the 13-17 BRZ plus FR-S and 86 applications; driveline pieces like the Perrin Driveshaft Carrier Bushings; and shifters such as the Mishimoto Shift Knob. Do I need a tune after installing a flywheel?

No. An OEM-spec flywheel is a mechanical replacement part that requires no ECU changes — just a proper clutch break-in afterward.

Will the Exedy TYF001 fit my BRZ?

It is listed for the 13-17 BRZ as well as FR-S and 86 applications. Confirm your year and trim against the product fitment list before ordering.

Do carrier bushings add vibration?

Firmer carrier bushings can add a small amount of driveline noise, but most drivers notice improved throttle response and less driveline slop instead.

How hard is a flywheel or clutch install?

Clutch and flywheel work requires dropping the transmission, so it is a full-day job for a home mechanic or a few shop hours — budget for fresh hardware and a break-in period.
