Retrax

The best Retrax covers in this collection for truck owners are its retractable tonneau covers for the Toyota Tacoma, Toyota Tundra, and Honda Ridgeline, in PRO MX, PRO EZ-Off, ONE MX, and Powertrax ONE XR forms. Start with your exact truck, bed length, and rail system: listings here split by 5 ft, 5.5 ft, 6 ft, and 6.5 ft beds, and several are built specifically for trucks with a deck rail system or Trax rail system.

A retractable tonneau cover rolls or slides open instead of folding or lifting as one panel, so bed access stays quick while the bed stays covered. The key checks are bed length, whether your truck has the deck rail system the listing names, and whether the cover is a standard retractable, an EZ-Off version, or a powered Powertrax version. Check your year and model, and browse the wider Tacoma parts range if you are building out the whole truck.

About the brands

Retrax is the brand throughout this collection, led by the PRO MX XR Series cover for the 2024 Tacoma 6 ft bed with Trax rail system and the RetraxPRO EZ-Off cover for the 2017-2026 Ridgeline 5 ft bed. The range also covers Tundra CrewMax 5.5 ft and 6.5 ft beds, a matte polycarbonate RetraxONE MX for the 2022-2024 Tundra, and a Powertrax ONE XR for the 2022 and newer Tundra.

BAK is the main folding-cover alternative shoppers cross-shop against Retrax. Its range at JDMuscle is much larger and centres on folding bed covers, so it suits owners who prefer a panel that folds forward rather than a cover that retracts into the bed.

Extang is known for tonneau covers across soft, folding, and hard formats, giving truck owners a broad price and style spread. It is a useful comparison if you want to weigh a simpler cover against the Retrax retractable listings here.

Truxedo is known for roll-up bed covers, which keep bed access simple and roll out of the way when the bed is in use. Shoppers who haul tall loads often compare Truxedo roll-ups with Retrax retractables. For more Toyota truck ideas, read aftermarket parts to improve your Toyota's look.

Frequently asked questions

How do I know which bed length to order for?

Use the bed length in the listing title — 5 ft, 5.5 ft, 6 ft, or 6.5 ft — and confirm it against your own truck. A cover for a 5.5 ft CrewMax bed will not suit a 6.5 ft bed.

What does the deck rail system note mean?

Several Tundra and Tacoma listings are built for trucks equipped with a deck rail system, and the Tacoma PRO MX XR listing names a Trax rail system. Check whether your truck has that system fitted, because the listing is written around it.

What is the difference between the Retrax lines here?

The collection includes PRO MX, PRO EZ-Off, ONE MX in matte polycarbonate, and the Powertrax ONE XR. They differ in construction and operation, so read the listing for its material and opening method.

Is a retractable tonneau cover a difficult install?

Retractable covers are generally a bolt-on style job using the bed rails, but the canister and rails need careful alignment so the cover runs smoothly. Get help lifting the assembly into place.
