1978-1985 Mazda RX-7 (SA/FB) Parts

The best parts for a 1978-1985 Mazda RX-7 are the maintenance and control upgrades that keep a first-generation SA/FB car driving well: Centric C-Tek front brake rotors, Whiteline sway bar mount bushings, Injector Dynamics fuel injectors for the 1979-1984 cars, and Sparco seat bases made for the 1979-1985 chassis. Year splits matter on a classic, so check your year and model against every listing before ordering.

Early RX-7 shopping is mostly about replacing worn original hardware with correct modern equivalents. Rotors split by year range, bushings are sized in millimetres, and injectors differ by dimensions, so small details decide fitment. Owners can also browse the later 1985-1992 Mazda RX-7 (FC) Parts to see how the generations differ.

Whiteline is the suspension name here, with a 27mm sway bar mount bushing and a 5mm grease-free sway bar mount bushing, both listed for the 1979-1985 RX-7 alongside some Toyota truck applications. Whiteline is known for polyurethane bushings that replace soft, aged factory rubber, and the 27mm Sway Bar Mount Bushing shows why measuring matters: bushing size must match the bar.

McLeod Racing covers the high-power drivetrain end with RXT Twin Power Pack kits, ceramic lined with a steel flywheel, listed for Mazda 13B and 20B engines with a T56 transmission using a 1-1/8-inch, 26-spline input. McLeod is known for twin-disc packages aimed at cars making far more power than stock, so these are swap-focused parts, not factory replacements. ACT offers the more street-oriented alternative in this collection, an XT/Perf Street Sprung Clutch Kit listed for the 1983-1991 RX-7.

Sparco supplies the cockpit hardware, with 600 Series seat bases in left and right versions for the 1979-1985 RX-7, such as the Sparco 600 Series Left Side Seat Base. Sparco is known for motorsport seats and mounting hardware, and a model-specific base makes an aftermarket seat line up with the factory mounts. Centric handles braking with C-Tek blank front rotors, split between 1979-1983 cars and 1984-1985 cars with standard brakes, including the Centric C-Tek Blank Brake Rotor for 1979-1983. Injector Dynamics rounds out the fuel side with 1300x injectors and 1050cc injectors in 11mm and 14mm versions for the 1979-1984 RX-7

Why do the brake rotors split at 1984?

The Centric listings separate 1979-1983 cars from 1984-1985 cars with standard brakes, so front rotor fitment changed within the generation. Order by exact year rather than assuming one rotor covers all years.

Are the McLeod RXT kits a direct replacement for my stock clutch?

No. The RXT Power Pack listings are built around Mazda 13B and 20B engines paired with a T56 transmission and a 26-spline input, so they suit engine-and-transmission swap builds. Stock drivetrain cars should choose a clutch listed for the factory setup.

Do I need both Sparco seat bases?

Only if fitting aftermarket seats on both sides. The 600 Series bases are sold per side for the 1979-1985 RX-7, so order the side you are changing.

How do I choose between the 11mm and 14mm Injector Dynamics injectors?

Both sizes are listed for the 1979-1984 RX-7, and the correct one depends on your fuel rail and manifold setup. Confirm your current injector dimensions and check your year and model before ordering.
