FOX

The best FOX shocks for a Toyota truck or SUV depend on how you use it: the Performance Series 2.0 suits daily driving and mild lifts, the Performance Elite 2.5 adds reservoir capacity for rougher trails, and the Factory Race Series suits hard off-road use. This collection is built around Toyota applications — Tundra, Tacoma, 4Runner, Land Cruiser 250, Hilux, and the Lexus GX550 — so check your year and model first, then match the shock to your lift height.

Shocks and coilovers control how your truck handles weight, bumps, and body roll. A front coilover can also add lift — listings here range from 0-2.25 inches up to 1.5-3 inches — while rear shocks are matched to travel and load, including heavy-duty versions for trucks that carry gear. Internal floating piston (IFP) designs keep oil and gas separated, and reservoir and internal-bypass designs add capacity for sustained rough-road use. Start with the wider Suspension range or the Performance Shocks & Struts collection if you are comparing types.

FOX is the only brand in this collection, and its range here covers three clear tiers for Toyota owners. The Performance Series 2.0 includes an aluminum-body front shock for the Tundra with 5.29 inches of travel and a front IFP coilover for the 2024+ Tacoma with 0-2.25 inches of lift. FOX built its name on off-road suspension, and these tiers scale from stock-height replacement to a lifted trail setup.

The upper tiers add hardware for harder use. The 2.5 Performance Series and Performance Elite listings cover the 2025+ 4Runner, Land Cruiser 250, and GX550, including heavy-duty rear shocks, reservoir shocks for the 2024 Tacoma, and rear shocks for the 2016+ Hilux. Above them, the Factory Race Series brings internal-bypass shocks for the Tacoma and 4Runner. Daily drivers usually fit the simpler tiers; the added capacity is for repeated washboard, rocks, or heavy loads. Good starting points are the FOX Performance Series front IFP coilover for the 2024+ Tacoma and the FOX Performance Series 2.0 front shock for the Tundra.

Bilstein is worth comparing before you buy: a long-established shock maker known for monotube dampers, and a sensible cross-shop for a firmer, controlled ride without a full off-road build. Toyota owners also browse the Toyota Tacoma Aftermarket Parts collection, and our guide Going Off-Road covers how suspension upgrades work together on rough terrain.

Will these FOX shocks fit my Toyota?

Each listing is application- and often year-specific, such as the 2024+ Tacoma or 2025+ 4Runner parts. Check your year and model, plus front or rear position, before ordering.

How much lift do these coilovers add?

It varies by part: the 2024+ Tacoma front IFP coilover lists 0-2.25 inches, while a 2025+ 4Runner front coilover lists 1.5-3 inches. Match the shock to the lift you already have or plan, and check the individual product title for its range.

Do I need an alignment after fitting front coilovers?

Yes. Lifting changes camber and toe, and an alignment protects handling and tire wear.

What is the difference between IFP, reservoir, and internal-bypass shocks?

An IFP shock keeps oil and nitrogen separated inside one body. A reservoir shock adds external oil capacity for sustained use, and an internal-bypass shock adds position-sensitive damping for hard off-road driving. Trail trucks benefit most from the top tiers.
