2016-2023 Toyota Tacoma Mods

The best 2016-2023 Toyota Tacoma mods start with suspension, because a leveled or lifted third-gen Tacoma transforms both stance and trail capability. A 2-inch front lift kit like the ARB OME Nitro Plus kits corrects factory rake and clears larger tires, an adjustable upper control arm kit from Eibach restores proper alignment geometry at lift, and supporting mods like the Fleece All Lights On kit and a direct-fit phone mount finish the daily-driver setup. Stick with kits engineered for the 2016-2023 platform so geometry, load ratings, and fitment stay correct.

Third-gen Tacoma parts split into three buckets: suspension and lift, armor and utility, and interior tech. Suspension is where most owners start — coilover or spacer lifts up front, leaf packs or blocks in the rear, and alignment correction arms to keep camber and caster in spec. Utility mods like bed covers, running boards, and bumpers protect the truck and add function for overlanding and work use.

ARB is the Australian 4x4 accessories brand behind the Old Man Emu suspension line, a fixture of the off-road world for decades. The OME Nitro Plus kits sold here are complete front-and-rear packages engineered as matched systems — shocks, springs, and hardware tuned together for a stated lift height.

Eibach is a suspension-first company known for performance springs, coilovers, and alignment components. The Pro-Alignment adjustable front upper control arm kits for the 16-23 Tacoma let you dial camber back into spec after a lift, which is the part most owners skip and then regret when tires wear unevenly. Eibach's alignment arms are built around heavy-duty ball joints and adjustable geometry for lifted and leveled trucks.

Fleece Performance started in the diesel performance world and expanded into electrical and lighting products, including the All Lights On kit that lets a Tacoma run all forward lighting simultaneously for trail visibility. Course Motorsports covers the cabin side with direct-fit magnetic phone mounts engineered specifically for the Tacoma dashboard.

Standouts include the ARB OME Nitro Plus suspension kit with a 2-inch front lift and the Eibach Pro-Alignment adjustable front upper control arm kit. Will a 2-inch lift affect daily driving?

A properly engineered 2-inch kit with matched shocks rides close to stock and clears larger tires. Get an alignment immediately after install and confirm the shop sets caster and camber to spec.

Do I need new control arms with a lift?

Lifts above about 2 inches push factory control arms out of their designed range, making alignment difficult. Adjustable upper control arms restore geometry and prevent uneven tire wear.

What should I check before ordering?

Confirm your cab and bed configuration, 4WD or 2WD, and whether the truck carries constant load like a shell or rack. Rear spring rate should match how you actually use the truck.

Can I install a lift kit myself?

Mechanical lift kits are a weekend job for experienced DIYers with jack stands, spring compressors, and torque specs. A professional alignment afterward is non-negotiable.
