The Girodisc 2-Piece Front Rotor Set for the 2018-2021 Subaru WRX STI is a direct OEM replacement that bolts directly to your car without requiring any modifications. Designed to maintain your factory brake bias and ABS efficiency, this high-performance upgrade delivers superior braking power while retaining the stock feel.

Unlike a big brake kit, the Girodisc system allows you to preserve your factory braking balance while benefiting from the lightweight and high-strength construction. The rotor features 48 curved directional vanes, a design developed from racing applications to act as a centrifugal pump, forcing cooling air through the disc to minimize heat buildup.

Superior Construction

The central hat section is crafted from 6061-T6 aircraft specification aluminum, sourced entirely from the USA. The disc itself is made from proprietary high carbon cast iron, poured and machined in the USA for unmatched quality.

The rotor and hat are connected using a floating mount system that utilizes 8 or 10 high-strength alloy steel drive pins, manufactured by Girodisc. These pins are cadmium plated for corrosion resistance and secured with grade 12 cap screws and hardened washers. The floating system allows for axial and radial movement between the hat and disc, promoting self-centering between the brake pads.

To eliminate the common rattle of floating rotors when cold, the pins are mounted with anti-noise spring washers, allowing the rotor to expand with heat while remaining quiet during regular driving.

Maintenance

Once the Girodisc system is installed, simply replace the cast iron rotor when necessary. Replacement discs are available under SKU: D1-185.
