Upgrades You’ll Notice Every Single Drive

Interior mods get overlooked because they don’t show up on a dyno sheet. But they’re the ones you interact with constantly.

A weighted shift knob changes how every gear change feels. More deliberate, less notchy, and paired with a short shifter, it transforms the whole drivetrain experience. Aftermarket pedals give you better grip for heel-toe work and clean up a worn factory set. A proper steering wheel wrap or replacement fixes the single thing your hands touch for every single mile you drive.

Then there’s the practical side. Custom-fit floor liners protect your carpet from slush, gravel, and whatever else your build drags in. Storage inserts turn dead center-console space into somewhere useful. These aren’t glamorous, but they’re the STI interior mods owners never regret.

Start with what bothers you most. That’s usually the perfect first upgrade.

Building a Cabin That Matches the Build

If you've already sorted the engine, suspension, and exterior, a stock-looking interior starts to feel like an unfinished sentence.

Carbon fiber trim overlays for the dash, console, and door panels are the fastest way to tie the cabin into a carbon exterior build. Alcantara wraps bring a more subdued, motorsport-inspired feel. Ambient LED lighting adds a modern layer after dark, with color-matched options that pull the whole scheme together.

For 2015 STI interior builds specifically, worth noting: the 2018 refresh brought changes to the infotainment surround and some console trim, so double-check fitment on dash and center console pieces. Everything else, shift knobs, pedals, lighting, floor liners, carries across the full 2015-2021 range.

    FAQs

Are these Subaru STI interior parts a DIY install?

Most are. Shift knobs, pedals, floor liners, and trim overlays typically need basic hand tools or nothing at all. Steering wheels and gauge pods take more effort. Product listings note install difficulty where it matters for all Subaru STI interior parts.

Do 2015 STI interior parts fit later model years?

Usually. The VA-generation cabin stayed consistent from 2015-2021 apart from the 2018 infotainment refresh, which affects some dash and console trim. Fitment info is on every listing.

Will interior lighting drain my battery?

No. Modern LED setups draw minimal power and won’t strain your electrical system when properly installed.
