Snow Performance Water-Methanol Injection Parts

The best Snow Performance products for most boosted owners are its Stage 2 Boost Cooler water-methanol injection kits, offered in universal forced-induction form and in versions listed for the WRX and WRX STI, with Boost Juice as the matching pre-mixed fluid. This collection covers complete kits, a throttle body injection plate for 2004-2014 WRX and WRX STI, and replacement fluid at JDMuscle. Check your year and model before ordering, and plan on tuning support, because the system only delivers its benefit when the tune accounts for it.

Water-methanol injection sprays a fine mist into the intake charge on a boosted engine. The water absorbs heat as it evaporates, cooling the charge, while the methanol adds octane, together giving the tuner more headroom against knock under boost. A progressive Stage 2 controller increases delivery with boost rather than spraying a fixed amount, which suits street turbo cars that only need extra cooling at full demand. Braided lines, 4AN fittings, and vehicle-specific plates determine how cleanly a kit installs.

Snow Performance is the specialist name in this niche, and its range here is focused rather than broad. The Snow Performance Gas Stage 2 Boost Cooler Kit is the universal forced-induction starting point, while the Stage 2 Boost Cooler for 2015-2018 WRX and the stainless braided-line STI kit tailor plumbing and mounting to Subaru applications. Consumables are covered by Snow Performance Boost Juice, sold as a case of four gallons so the tank does not run dry between events.

Nitrous Express is the other power-adder range in the store, taking the opposite approach of adding nitrous oxide rather than cooling the charge. Water-methanol supports a boosted setup whenever you are in boost, while nitrous is on-demand, with its own bottle and tuning demands. Many builds instead start with charge cooling from the Performance Intercoolers range, which lowers intake temperatures with no fluid to refill.

Tuning ties all of this together, and Cobb Tuning is the familiar Subaru route, with Accessport-based monitoring and calibration support for the WRX and WRX STI platforms these kits target. Whatever system you choose, know what your gauges are telling you — our guide on what to monitor on Accessport for WRX explains the key values to watch on a tuned, boosted car.

Does a water-methanol kit require a tune?

Yes, plan on tuning. The cooling and octane benefit only becomes safe, repeatable power when the calibration accounts for the spray, and a failsafe strategy should cover an empty tank or a blocked nozzle.

Which kit fits my WRX or WRX STI?

This collection lists a Stage 2 system for 2015-2018 WRX, a braided-line kit described for WRX STI applications, and a throttle body injection plate for 2004-2014 WRX and WRX STI. Check your year and model against the product title before ordering.

How difficult is installation?

It is an intermediate to advanced install involving a pump, tank, lines, nozzle or plate, wiring, and a progressive controller. Many owners have a performance shop install and tune the system as one job.

What fluid do the kits use?

The kits are designed around a water-methanol mix, and Boost Juice in this collection is the pre-mixed option sold by the case of four gallons. Follow the kit instructions for the correct fluid and never run the tank dry under boost.
