NSX

What are the best upgrades for an Acura NSX? For the 1990-2005 Honda/Acura NSX, the most rewarding mods are tasteful ones: titanium engine-bay hardware to dress the C-series V6, valvetrain and MLS gasketing for serious engine builds, and subtle aero such as a front lip that sharpens the factory lines. This collection gathers NSX-specific parts from the specialist brands that serve Honda's mid-engine icon.

The NSX rewards restraint. Its aluminum chassis and mid-mounted V6 were engineered as a complete package, so the best upgrades enhance rather than overwhelm — lighter hardware, sharper engine response, aero that works with the original design. Fitment splits by generation: early NA1 cars (1991-2001, pop-up headlights) and facelifted NA2 cars (2002-2005) differ in bodywork, and engines span the 3.0-liter C30A and 3.2-liter C32B. Check your year and model against every part before ordering.

Ferrea is a valvetrain specialist, and its exhaust valve sets for the NSX — like the 28mm Super Alloy set here covering Integra, NSX, and RSX applications — are built for engines that rev. Upgraded valves with matching springs and retainers are the foundation of any high-RPM C30A or C32B build, whether you're refreshing a tired head or building for forced induction.

Cometic is the name most engine builders reach for when a composite gasket won't cut it. The 93mm bore, .036-inch MLS head gasket for the NSX C30A1/C32B1 here is multi-layer steel, designed to seal under the cylinder pressures of a built or boosted engine. MLS gaskets demand properly prepared deck and head surfaces — get the machine work right and they seal; skip it and they won't.

Dress Up Bolts makes the NSX's engine bay look as exotic as the car: full titanium hardware kits for the 1990-2005 NSX replacing dull factory fasteners with lightweight, corrosion-proof titanium. It's the rare mod that's equal parts weight savings and show-car detail, installing with basic hand tools. Epsilon+ Aerodynamics adds aero with its R-GT front lip for the 02-05 NSX NA2, while Fast Turn Fittings covers titanium front and engine bay kits. See also the broader Honda/Acura performance range.

Standouts: the Epsilon+ R-GT front lip for the 2002-2005 NSX NA2, the Ferrea Super Alloy exhaust valve set, and the Cometic MLS head gasket for the C30A1/C32B1. For aero guidance, see our front lip buyer's guide — the fitment principles apply to any platform.

NA1 vs. NA2 — which parts fit my NSX?

NA1 generally covers 1991-2001 pop-up-headlight cars and NA2 the 2002-2005 facelift, with engines spanning the 3.0L C30A and 3.2L C32B. Body and aero parts are generation-specific — the Epsilon+ lip here is NA2-only — so check your year and model.

Do titanium engine bay kits need special tools?

No. Most dress-up hardware kits install with basic hand tools, replacing factory bolts one at a time. Work methodically so nothing is left loose.

Are MLS head gaskets a direct bolt-on?

They bolt on, but they only seal if head and deck surfaces are properly prepared — flat, clean, and finished to spec. Budget for machine work when planning an MLS install on a C30A or C32B.

Will a front lip affect daily drivability?

A subtle lip like the R-GT adds minimal clearance loss, but any lowered nose needs care over steep driveways and speed bumps.
