JDMuscle Tanso Carbon Fiber

What are the best carbon fiber interior trim upgrades for a WRX or WRX STI? The ones that are actually molded for your exact generation — pre-preg carbon fiber shifter trim covers, dash trim, steering wheel trim, and fender emblems sized for the 15-21 or 22-26 chassis — because generation-specific pieces sit flush and look factory instead of aftermarket.

JDMuscle Tanso Carbon Fiber is JDMuscle's in-house carbon program, built around pre-preg carbon fiber: carbon sheets pre-impregnated with resin that cure under pressure for a tight, even weave and a thinner, stronger laminate than traditional wet-layup carbon. The line focuses on interior and small exterior trim — the parts you touch and see every drive — finished in a gloss that matches well with other factory-style dark trim in the cabin.

Carbon trim works because it fills the gaps Subaru left plain: the factory shifter surround, cup holder area, dash strips, and steering wheel spokes are plain plastic on most WRX and STI trims. What to look for: first, generation-matched fitment (15-21 pieces will not sit right on a 22-26 console), then piece selection — start with the high-visibility zones like the shifter trim and dash, which transform the cabin more than a dozen small badges.

Because Tanso is an in-house line, the pieces are developed directly against the cars they fit — MT-specific shifter trim covers shaped for the 22-26 WRX console, driver and passenger dash trim pairs for the same generation, and fender emblems cut for 15-21 WRX/STI fenders. The Tanso carbon fiber shift knob is the universal-format outlier: a carbon fiber knob from the same program, listed in universal fitment. If you want the full treatment, pair the interior trim with carbon fiber hoods and interior trim and accessories so the carbon theme carries through the car.

The 22-26 WRX MT shifter trim cover is the flagship interior piece: a pre-preg carbon cover with a gloss finish that drops over the factory console trim around the manual shifter, instantly upgrading the most-handled part of the cabin. For 15-21 owners, the Tanso fender emblem V2 adds the carbon touch to the exterior without touching paint. Is Tanso carbon fiber real carbon, or a carbon-look overlay?

Tanso pieces are pre-preg carbon fiber — actual carbon fabric cured under pressure, not vinyl wrap or carbon-print plastic. That gives them the genuine weave depth and the stiffness of real composite trim.

Will 15-21 WRX pieces fit my 22-26 WRX?

No — console, dash, and steering wheel geometry changed between generations, so always match the generation in the product title to your car. When in doubt, check your year and model against the fitment listed on the product page.

How hard is installation?

Most Tanso interior trim installs with basic hand tools or trim-removal clips and no permanent modification — plan on well under an hour for shifter trim and dash covers.

How do I keep gloss carbon trim looking new?

Wipe with a soft microfiber and mild cleaner, and avoid abrasive polishes on the gloss coat. Cabin UV exposure is low, so interior pieces hold their finish for years with simple care.
