2022+ Subaru WRX Engine Dressing

What are the best engine bay dress-up parts for a 2022+ Subaru WRX? Model-specific covers and caps — radiator shrouds, fender shrouds, pulley covers, and billet cap sets made for the 22-26 chassis — because pieces molded for the FA24 bay sit flush, install in minutes, and give the engine bay a finished, coordinated look without touching a single fastener that matters.

Engine dressing is the cosmetic side of the engine bay: covers that tidy up the factory's exposed hardware and plain surfaces. A radiator shroud spans the gap between the core support and the radiator, a fender shroud cleans up the strut-tower edges, a pulley cover hides the front drive assembly, and a cap set replaces the bland factory fluid caps with machined billet pieces. None of these change how the car drives — they change how the bay photographs and how it feels every time you pop the hood.

What to look for: model-specific fitment first (the 22-26 WRX bay layout differs from the previous generation), then material and finish — anodized or powder-coated aluminum in a color you can repeat across the bay, or carbon fiber if you're building a carbon theme. Small parts add up visually, so pick a palette: red shrouds with black caps, or all-carbon, rather than a mix of everything.

GrimmSpeed is the Subaru-first performance brand whose hardware lives in engine bays across the platform — their lightweight battery tie down is a bay-dressing staple that replaces the bulky factory battery bracket with a clean machined piece. Perrin is another Subaru-focused name; their red shroud pieces are the centerpiece of many dressed 22+ bays, including the fender shroud set for the 22-26 WRX (Perrin has no brand collection page here — browse their pieces through the collection listings). Mishimoto brings its cooling and dress-up catalog, and their WRX parts pair well with the shroud pieces. Suya Performance covers the small details — billet aluminum engine bay caps that swap in seconds and instantly clean up the bay's busy plastic.

Build the bay in layers: caps and a battery tie down first, then shrouds, then larger covers. When the dressing is done, the next step for a cleaner bay is actual airflow — browse cooling upgrades and intercoolers for functional pieces that look as good as they work, and read our cold air intake guide for the 2022 WRX for how intake and bay upgrades fit together.

Does engine dressing add any performance?

Almost none — these are cosmetic parts. The exception at the margins is a radiator shroud, which can tidy airflow through the radiator area, but buy dressing pieces for looks and you will never be disappointed.

Will 2015-2021 WRX dress-up parts fit the 2022+?

Usually not — the 22-26 WRX uses a new chassis and engine bay layout, so use parts explicitly listed for 22-26 (or "all Subaru models" for universal items like cap sets and tie downs). Check your year and model against each product's fitment.

How hard is installation?

Most dress-up installs need only basic hand tools and take under an hour total — shrouds and caps are among the easiest first mods you can do.

Will colored shrouds fade under the hood?

Quality anodized and powder-coated finishes hold up to under-hood heat well. Avoid harsh solvents when cleaning, and a microfiber wipe-down keeps the finish crisp.
