The Injen SP1574P SP Series short ram intake (Polished finish) is a direct fit for the 2016-2021 Honda Civic L4-2.0L. It uses 6061-T6 aluminum intake tubing with Injen's patented MegaRam (MR) Technology and Air Fusion Technology, a custom heat shield designed for this application, and a fully serviceable Injen SuperNano-Web dry air filter.

Installation Overview

Injen states that installation does require some mechanical skills and a qualified mechanic is always recommended. Do not install while the engine is hot, and disconnect the battery before installation.

• Disconnect the MAF sensor and pull back the harness clip, remove the hard crankcase line from the intake tube, and unclip and remove the upper air box.
• Remove the plastic push clips and the plastic cover above the radiator, pull back the 2 push clips and loosen the 2 10mm screws on the lower air box, and lift it out. Loosen the throttle body clamp, and remove the OEM air box bracket, saving 1 screw.
• Attach the rubber trim to the top of the heat shield. Position the heat shield with the provided nylon spacer between the frame and heat shield, secure the tab with the provided M6 screw and washer, and secure the back bracket at the factory air box mounting position with the saved OEM screw.
• Install the vibramount in the OEM air box threaded insert. Remove the MAF sensor and install it in the Injen intake tube with the 2 OEM screws.
• Install the step hose with clamps on the throttle body, install the intake tube to the step hose and the bracket to the vibramount, and secure it with the provided M6 nut and fender washer.
• Reconnect the MAF harness, install the 10mm hose on the intake tube fitting and connect the crankcase hardline to it, then install the filter.
• For CVT transmission, Injen says to disconnect the harness clip and place the harness on top of the heat shield.
• Reconnect the negative battery terminal, align the system and tighten all nuts, bolts and clamps.

Emissions

This product is not currently CARB exempt and is not available for purchase in California or for use on any vehicle registered with the California Department of Motor Vehicles. Injen's instructions add that states adopting California emission standards require a CARB E.O. number for public-road use, and that such vehicles are considered "Legal in California only for racing vehicles competition use only".
