Description
Description
The Hawk Performance HPS front brake pads for the 1989-1993 Mazda Miata are a premium, high-performance street compound. Part number: HB148F.560.
- HPS is a Ferro-Carbon compound developed for street performance using the safety and quality of aerospace and motorsports severe-duty friction technology.
- 100-700 Deg F operating temperature range and 100-500 Deg F optimal temperature range.
- HPS offers 20-40% more stopping power and improved resistance to fading over OEM replacement pads.
- Increased stopping power, long life, less dust and reduced noise compared to other aftermarket performance brake pads.
- HPS pads are designed primarily for daily driven street use and will hold up under light autocross duty.
- Hawk Performance burnishes its brake pads as a final step in the factory, but all brake pads must be bedded-in with the rotors (new or used) they will be used against. Proper bedding-in generates a transfer film at the pad and rotor interface to maximize brake performance.
- Brake pads are wear items and should be inspected regularly and replaced as necessary. Pads should be replaced when approximately 1/8th inch of friction material remains on the steel backing plate.
- All Hawk Performance compounds are not compatible with carbon ceramic rotors. Hawk pads are designed to work with iron and metal rotors.
