Feature-packed, these gaskets are a perfect fit for any engine build, from basic refresh to a high horsepower track monster. 

The GrimmSpeed Head Gaskets feature a multi-layer steel (MLS) construction, in which multiple grades are used to provide optimal surface and combustion chamber sealing as they are torqued down. The top and bottom layers feature a Nitrile Rubberized Coating that helps accommodate a rougher RA surface finish of up to 50microinch. This acts to better seal the non-critical areas of the gasket. In addition, the gasket edge includes a folded stopper layer that allows for optimal sealing for the combustion chamber. This is done to help reduce the chances of combustion gasses causing head gasket failures under extremely high cylinder pressures that built engines can experience.

After talking to numerous engine builders/tuners it was clear that creating a variety of gasket thicknesses was key for pairing them with the right build. With that in mind, we’ve made the gaskets available in multiple thicknesses (.78, 1.05, 1.45mm) to help fine tune each individual build. In addition, the slightly oversized bore diameters will allow for up to 0.5mm overbore.

The FA gaskets were designed to be compatible in both FA20A (WRX) and FA20B (BRZ, FRS, 86). Meaning that it will be just as much at home in a lower power NA build as it will be in a high power boosted application.

Testing

GrimmSpeed High-Performance Head Gaskets are designed to optimize combustion chamber sealing. This is done by using a unique gasket design feature which sets us apart from the competition. By strategically undercutting the middle layer of the gasket near the combustion chamber, we can control the crushing of outer layers, which in turn creates a perfect seal around the combustion chamber.  

We can visually demonstrate this feature by using pressure-sensitive film and compressing the gasket in a manner that mimics the tightening of a head against the block. The film changes colors from white to pink to red as pressure is applied to denote areas of high and low-pressure application. This information will then allow for easy visual verification of effectiveness in sealing of a gasket against a surface.

As seen in the results, the combustion chambers are sealed evenly and equally around the circumference of the cylinder by the deep part circles. This visual representation is showing that combustion gasses are going to be held in the chamber and directed towards pushing the piston instead of escaping. Failure of a gasket to seal with even pressure around the circumference of the cylinder would be detrimental for the performance and reliability of a gasket and would most certainly result in failure.

Returns
Our policy lasts 30 days. If 30 days have gone by since your purchase, unfortunately, we can’t offer you a refund or exchange. Please send an email to sales@jdmuscleusa.com or use our return portal located at the top of the page to set up a return.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging.

Additional non-returnable items:

• Special-ordered items, including anything custom products

Depending on your method of payment, transaction fees might not be refundable which ranges between 2.3% - 6% of the order value. Note this is charged by a third-party payment provider, not us. You may receive a full refund if you choose to receive a store credit instead.

There are certain situations where only partial refunds are granted (if applicable)

Cancellation

Please ensure you have contacted us on availability before placing an order. All cancellations could be subject to 2.3% - 6% fee to cover transaction costs charged by third-party payment providers. You have 7 days to cancel an order, once the order has been processed(item packaged/ tracking number has been created), the cancellation will not be allowed but you may contact us for a return request if the item is eligible for return.

Special-ordered items cannot be canceled.

Refunds (if applicable)
Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.

If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within 3-10 business days(depending on the payment provider). The restocking fee might be applicable as noted in the return section.

Late or missing refunds (if applicable)

Once you have received an email/text from us stating the refund has been processed, at this stage, it's completely out of our control but depends on the payment providers to decide when the refund will show up in your bank. As noted, depending on the payment provider the process can take up to 10 business days(usually 3-5). If you haven’t received a refund yet, please first check your bank statement. A lot of times instead of a new line showing a reversal charge/credit, the payment would just disappear from your pending section.

Contact your credit card company/financing company you used, it may take some time before your refund is officially posted but reaching out might help expedite the process.
