DESCRIPTION

The DM-1 shifter is packed full of engineered designs to maximize your driving experience. Available for nearly all manual Subarus, this is not only the strongest Suabru shifter available but also has the shortest throw capabilities with nearly 50% shorter throw than OEM. Manufactured in the USA, we use only the best industry techniques and materials to create this beast. Powder coated A356 T6 treated castings, and a combination of anodized Billet 6061 and 7075 aluminum make up all structual components. The shifter pivots on a custom designed CNC machined U-joint. The U-joint utilizes four deep groove cageless ball bearings. Our proprietary Patent Pending (17/397,764) design, address's fundamental engineering mechanics that set the DM-1 apart from every other short shifter package on the market. No other short shifting package comes close to adressing the multidude of solutions that the DM-1 provides.

FEAUTURES

-CHASSIS MOUNTED DESIGN

Our chassis mounted design secures the foundation of the DM-1 in a fixed position relative to the driver. Both the driver and shifter are secured to the chassis of the vehicle which prevents a relative change in position under extreme driving conditions. Mounting the foundation to the chassis also provides the most efficient energy transfer both in and out of the DM-1's pivot point. Other aftermarket short throw kits utilize a series of bushings for the shifter's foundation. These options allow the shifter's pivot point to move when work is being transferred in and back out of the system ultimatley taking away from the amount of effort required to shift.

-TOOL FREE HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT

Adjusting the height of the DM-1 does not require ANY tools or the dissasembly of your interior that other solutions require. Simply rotate your billet aluminum leather boot collar for over an inch of relative height adjustment. This easy adjustment can provide both a change in throw and a change in the drivers required, "Force" needed to shift. You will find that increasing the distance of the shift height will make it easier to shift, and vice versa, because of the relationship between "Force", "Distance", and "Work".

-INDEPENDENT THROW ADJUSTMENT

Our independent throw adjustment features 2 different throw options for the drivers tuneability. The options provide an adjustment similar to the current short shift solutions, and an even shorter throw adjustment for drivers looking for the quickest shifts. Our throw settings were meticulously designed using simulations in CAD to place the settting positions tangent to the OEM shift arms pivot point. What this all means, is that when changing between the settings, the shift knob angle retains its same position. This is not a feature found in other aftermarket solutions.

THROW POSITION PICTURES

The 10th and 11th image show the DM-1 in the shortest adjustment settings, installed in a vehicle. All pictures of the DM-1 show 3rd and 4th gear shifter positions. Side profile images are also show of the DM-1 in 3rd and 4th gear on a test stand that is connected to a transmission. For demonstration purposes, the OEM 5-speed shifter is also show in the same circumstances for referance.

FITMENT

Please read fitment notes below for specific vehicles. This product is intended for off-road and track use. It is recommended that older vehicles have either upgraded or replaced their factory motor and transmission mounts. We recommend running either a race or track style mount with the DM-1. We only confirm fitment for a factory vehicle with its original transmission.

GC 93-01
GC VEHICLES With 5-speed transmissions, must install the 6-speed transmission shift arm with the DM-1 shifter. Subaru part number: 35041FG010

-The 5-speed leather boot needs to be switched out with the coresponding years STI leather boot, or the boot's opening needs to be cut large enough to fit around the DM-1 boot collar.
-The OEM shift arm is availible in our store.
-The transmission needs the newer style 5-speed shift linkage update package from Turn in Concepts.

WRX 02-07
WRX VEHICLES With 5-speed transmissions, must install the 6-speed transmission shift arm with the DM-1 shifter. Subaru part number: 35041FG010 (available in our store).

-The 5-speed leather boot needs to be switched out with the coresponding years STI leather boot, or the boot's opening needs to be cut large enough to fit around the DM-1 boot collar.
-The 05 and previous WRX transmissions need the newer style 5-speed shift linkage update package from Turn in Concepts.

WRX 08-14
WRX VEHICLES With 5-speed transmissions, must install the 6-speed transmission shift arm with the DM-1 shifter. Subaru part number: 35041FG010

-The 5-speed leather boot needs to be switched out with the coresponding years STI leather boot, or the boot's opening needs to be cut large enough to fit around the DM-1 boot collar.

STI 04-07 (STI VEHICLES)
-STI 04-05 must use OEM shift arm Subaru part number: 35041FE010
-STI 06-07 must use OEM shift arm Subaru part number: 35041FE070

STI 08+
STI VEHICLES The DM-1 shifter fits the 08+ STI models with no additional parts necessary.

Carriers

We ship via FedEx, UPS, USPS, and DHL. While we strive to use the most efficient option, we cannot guarantee which carrier will deliver your order. Your items may arrive in multiple packages through different carriers.

Processing Time and Shipping Cut-off

Orders typically take 24 hours to process, with shipping cut-off at 3:00 PM EST. Transit times vary based on location and carrier. Some items, especially those requiring freight shipping, may have extended processing and delivery times. For freight shipping inquiries, contact us at sales@jdmuscleusa.com.

 

International and Special Shipping Considerations

• International orders are subject to higher shipping fees. If you would like to review your shipping cost, email us at sales@jdmuscleusa.com with your full address and items you plan to purchase.
• In some cases, shipping costs may be incorrectly calculated for international or oversized items. We reserve the right to adjust the shipping fee and will work with you to negotiate a fair cost if needed.
• Customers can challenge and request a review of international shipping fees, and we’ll do our best to find a lower rate where possible.
• Customs Fees & Import Taxes: The shipping charge you pay does not include customs fees or import taxes. These charges vary by country and are the customer’s responsibility. Please check with your local customs office for more details before placing an order.
• Shipping Cost Adjustments: Shipping rates fluctuate, and while we strive to provide the most competitive rates, there may be instances where the shipping cost you paid is significantly lower than the actual cost. In such cases, we reserve the right to request the difference to ensure we cover our basic expenses. Address Modifications and Fees

• Any modifications to a shipping address after an order is placed may be subject to additional fees.
• For single, small packages, the flat fee is $20. For larger or multiple packages, the fee may be up to $60 or more.

Freight Shipping Guidelines

• Freight shipments require you to be present at the time of delivery.
• The delivery driver may provide a delivery receipt (Bill of Lading). It is crucial to inspect the shipment before signing.
• Carefully check the packaging for any visible damage (dents, punctures, rips) and notate it on the Bill of Lading.
• Open the package and inspect the product itself. If damage is found, document it in detail on the Bill of Lading, take photos, and contact the shipping company to initiate a damage claim.
• Do not refuse the shipment. Contact us at sales@jdmuscleusa.com for guidance.
• If the delivery driver is unable to wait for inspection, note this on the Bill of Lading.

Failure to document damages before signing the Bill of Lading will void any claims for refunds or replacements.

Pre-Installation Inspection Policy

We strongly recommend inspecting all parts or items upon arrival before installation. If you identify any damage, imperfections or missing components, report them immediately to sales@jdmuscleusa.com. Do not install the item. Please note that reports of damage, defects, imperfections or missing components after installation will NOT be honored.

Package Protection

We do our best to ensure your items arrive to you safely but sometimes things happen. If you utilized our Checkout+ feature, rest assured that your package is protected! Cancellations

Before placing an order, please confirm availability.

Cancellations within 7 days may be subject to fees to cover third-party transaction costs.

Once the order has been processed (packaged or tracking generated), cancellations are not allowed. Eligible items may be returned instead.

Special-order items cannot be canceled.

Refund Process

Late or Missing Refunds

Exchanges

🎁 If the item was marked as a gift when purchased and shipped directly to you, you will receive a gift credit for the return value.
📩 If the gift giver had the item shipped to themselves, we will refund the gift giver.

Return Shipping

📦 Customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless the item is damaged, defective, or incorrect (in which case we will cover shipping both ways).

Initial shipping costs are non-refundable.

Return shipping costs will be deducted from the refund amount.

For items over $75, consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. We are not responsible for lost or damaged items during return shipping.
