Description
Description
The Cusco Type-RS Limited Slip Differential for the 1994-2005 Mazda Miata (NA8/NB) replaces the factory open or viscous differential for maximum traction. The Type-RS uses precision coil springs in the pressure plate, which apply activation pressure in the same direction as the initial torque for gentle, responsive clutch engagement, low power loss, and reduced chatter.
- Genuine Cusco part number LSD 177 L15
- Fits 1994-2005 Mazda Miata (NA8 1.8L and NB 1.6L/1.8L), rear position
- Type-RS 1.5-way — dual-profile pressure ring allows switching the ramp setting with a simple overhaul
- Initial torque 8-10kg; low initial torque for reduced power loss and less frequent oil changes
- Precision springs maintain steady coil movement for stable, consistent operation
- Use Cusco LSD gear oil (GL5 80W-140 or 80W-90)
- Note: A/T models equipped with a factory viscous LSD require replacement side shafts
