Warning (per APR Performance): The GTR air dam is designed for road course/circuit racing and is not meant for high speed/top speed runs where the car will see extended durations of high speed. The GTR air dam closes off the front bumper's ducting to the brakes; the lower air dam holds a lot of built-up pressure, which can result in damage to the air dam as well as the bumper and other front-end mounting components, as there is nowhere for the built-up air pressure to escape.

Per APR Performance, underbody aerodynamic components such as front air dams, undertrays, and rear diffusers play a critical role in maximizing vehicle performance at speed. The APR Front Air Dam is designed to integrate with the factory front bumper and, per APR, delivers aerodynamic benefits by reducing front-end lift, increasing high-speed stability, and improving front-end grip during high-speed cornering.

With an integrated aerodynamic splitter, the air dam creates a high-pressure zone above the splitter surface while managing airflow beneath the vehicle. APR says this pressure differential helps generate additional front-end downforce for stability, steering response, and handling.
