Description

AMS developed the Alpha Cowl Splash Shield after finding moisture and standing water in the passenger-side footwells of many customer GT-Rs. The problem was traced to water leaking into the cabin through the main engine wiring harness grommet hidden under the cowl vent along the passenger-side windshield: during heavy rain or a car wash, water drips onto the grommet and seeps into the cabin, which can cause corrosion and mold buildup and, in the worst case, failure of the main engine wiring harness or ECU. This shield diverts runoff water away from the firewall grommet and main engine wiring harness, bolts in using factory mounting points, and stays hidden from view underneath the factory cowling.
