    Fix the Worn Stuff, Then Upgrade

    On a car this age, the smartest Subaru WRX suspension upgrades start with replacing what’s already failing. 

    End links and bushings are the usual suspects. Factory rubber breaks down over time, and the result is clunks over bumps, sloppy steering, and a car that takes a beat to respond. Kartboy end links and Whiteline polyurethane bushings replace them with stiffer, longer-lasting designs, and the difference is obvious on the first drive.

    Then sway bars. A Perrin Performance or Whiteline bar cuts body roll dramatically for a fraction of what coilovers cost, and adjustable options let you balance understeer and oversteer to taste. For many owners, bushings plus bars deliver more improvement than they expected from any single mod.

    If you’re lowering the car, BLOX Racing adjustable arms and camber hardware let you correct the geometry that changes when ride height drops. Skip them, and you’ll see it in your tire wear. 

    Static or Air: Pick Your Path

    Once the basics are sorted, the big decision is how you want the car to sit.

    Coilovers and springs are the static route. Coilovers give you adjustable ride height and damping, so you can dial the car in for your roads and your driving, then change it as the build evolves. Springs are the budget option for a lower stance and less roll on factory struts. 

    Air suspension for the WRX is a different kind of flexibility. Air Lift Performance systems let you drop the car for shows and raise it for driveways, speed bumps, and winter roads, all from a controller. It’s a bigger investment, but if you want a low stance without scraping your way through daily life, nothing else does it.

    Either way, get an alignment once everything’s installed. We don’t do alignments in-house, so plan a shop visit after the install.

    What should I replace first on an older WRX?

    End links and bushings if they’re original. They’re cheap, they’re probably worn, and new ones improve every other upgrade.

    Do 2008-2014 suspension parts fit both the WRX and STI?

    Some do; many don’t. The STI ran different suspension geometry and components in these years. Check the listing fitment or filter by trim in the Garage.

    Is air suspension for the WRX reliable for daily driving?
