Performance Lowering Springs

The best lowering springs for a daily-driven WRX or STI are street-oriented sets like Tein S-Techs, which give a modest drop and are designed to work with stock or upgraded dampers. Springs are the simplest way to close the fender gap and sharpen turn-in: you keep your factory struts swap only the coils. Always buy the application-specific part number for your exact year and model — spring rates and perch fitment change across generations.

Lowering springs trade a little ride comfort for stance and flatter cornering. A mild street spring generally pairs fine with stock shocks, but aggressive drops make dampers work harder and almost always require an alignment right after install. Sampled products on this page include Tein S-Tech springs for the 2015-2021 WRX STI, Tein sets for the 2011-2016 Scion tC, 2003-2013 Infiniti G35/G37 coupe, and 2013-2019 FR-S/BRZ, plus D2 Racing lowering springs for the 2018-2026 Honda Accord and D2 Racing springs for the 2016-2020 Civic and Civic Si (fitments from the product titles).

Two of the brands on this page are Tein and D2 Racing — see the Tein brand collection and the D2 Racing brand collection for each brand's full lineup, or step up to the suspension height adjustment collection if you want ride-height adjustability instead of a fixed drop. Do I need an alignment after installing lowering springs?

Yes. Changing ride height changes camber and toe, so a professional alignment right after the install is standard practice.

Can I use lowering springs with my stock shocks?

Mild street springs generally work with stock dampers, but the stiffer, shorter coils make them work harder, which can shorten their life. Many owners pair springs with upgraded shocks or move to a height-adjustable setup later.

Springs or coilovers — which should I choose?

Springs are cheaper and simpler; coilovers add damping and height adjustability at a higher price. If you only want a better stance and slightly flatter handling, springs are usually enough.

How do I pick the right spring set?

Match the part number to your exact year, model, and body style — the Tein S-Tech set for the 2015-2019 WRX STI is a different part than the Scion tC set. When in doubt, check your year and model against the product title.
