Compressive Tuning Exterior Parts

The best Compressive Tuning parts in this collection are its Subaru airflow and protection pieces: AirShields intercooler protectors for the 2022-2025 WRX, 2015-2021 WRX STI, and 2019 and newer Ascent, Outback, and Legacy, a Smart Flow radiator shroud for the 2015-2021 WRX and WRX STI, Air Blade engine bay vents for the 2015-2020 WRX and WRX STI, and a Halo functional aero spoiler for the 2022-2026 WRX. Check your year and model before ordering, because each part is shaped for a specific generation.

These parts manage air through the front of the car. A top-mount intercooler sits exposed under the hood scoop, so its fins bend and clog with debris; a protector keeps the core cleaner. Radiator shrouds close gaps so air goes through the core instead of around it, and vents give hot air an exit. Shoppers start with the intercooler protector, then look at the wider performance intercoolers and engine dressing ranges for matching pieces.

Compressive Tuning is the single brand here, a Subaru-focused maker whose range splits into protection, cooling airflow, and aero. The AirShields line is its signature product, covers the 2022-2025 WRX, 2015-2021 STI, and 2019 and newer Ascent, Outback, and Legacy, with earlier versions for the 2015 and newer WRX and 2014 and newer Forester XT. The Smart Flow radiator shroud for the 2015-2021 WRX and STI comes in black, red, and silver, the Airblades vent addresses the same generation's engine bay heat, and the Halo spoiler takes the same thinking to the rear of the 2022-2026 WRX.

GrimmSpeed is the natural comparison for Subaru engine bay airflow, with its own intercooler and under-hood range for the WRX and STI. Where Compressive Tuning concentrates on protectors, vents, and shrouds, GrimmSpeed covers more of the hard parts those pieces surround, so the two are often combined on one car. Our guide to why you should install an intercooler kit explains the cooling side these parts support.

Perrin is the other Subaru name shoppers compare here, with engine bay covers and cooling parts for the WRX and STI. Perrin tends to be the dress-up alternative, while Compressive Tuning's pieces are bought for a functional job first — compare by the job you need done.

What do AirShields actually protect?

AirShields sit over the top-mount intercooler to keep debris from bending or clogging its fins. Versions are listed for the 2022-2025 WRX, 2015-2021 WRX and STI, 2019 and newer Ascent, Outback, and Legacy, and 2014 and newer Forester XT — check your year and model.

Does a radiator shroud make a real difference?

A shroud seals gaps around the radiator so more air passes through the core instead of spilling around it. The Smart Flow shroud fits the 2015-2021 WRX and WRX STI in black, red, and silver.

Are these parts hard to install?

Most pieces here are bolt-on parts that install with hand tools and no tuning. The Halo spoiler for the 2022-2026 WRX is the bigger job, so read the product page before ordering.

Do I need a tune after fitting Compressive Tuning parts?

No. Protectors, shrouds, vents, and the aero spoiler do not change the engine calibration, so no tune is required. They support the cooling system rather than replacing airflow or fueling parts.
