Toyota Built the Same SUV Two Opposite Ways for SEMA: Lifted Woodland Concepts and a Slammed Crown Signia GT-S
Toyota is showing the same family SUV two opposite ways at the 2026 SEMA Show: as one of five lifted, Horizon Blue Woodland concepts designed by CALTY — and, in a separate Toyota Motorsports Garage build, as the Crown Signia GT-S, slammed nearly five inches on one-off coilovers. The Woodland family, unveiled in reporting published today, October 30, puts Toyota's rugged badge on the RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid, Sienna, bZ, Grand Highlander and Crown Signia; Toyota has not said any of the five concepts is bound for production.
Five Woodlands, One Recipe

CarBuzz and AutoGuide, both publishing on October 30, list the same five concepts: a RAV4 Woodland Plug-in Hybrid Concept, a Sienna Woodland Concept, an all-electric Woodland bZ Concept, a Grand Highlander Woodland Concept and a Crown Signia Woodland Concept. The shared recipe, per both reports, is a suspension lift for more ground clearance, extended wheel-arch protection, roof racks and crossbars, and satin-black wheels wearing Yokohama Geolandar X-AT all-terrain tires — the same tire brand Subaru fits to its Wilderness models, which is exactly the territory Toyota is aiming at.
The Colour Is the Tell
Every concept wears Horizon Blue, a vintage Toyota colour drawn from the brand's 1960s lineup — CarBuzz notes the early Crown connection, fitting for the Crown Signia's first Woodland treatment — paired with blacked-out hoods and roofs. When a manufacturer paints five unrelated family vehicles one heritage colour, it is not decorating show cars; it is testing whether a badge can become a look. Subaru learned that lesson with Wilderness copper accents; Toyota is running the same play with blue.
Meanwhile, the Same SUV, Slammed

The Crown Signia also appears at SEMA in the opposite direction. Toyota's own newsroom release of October 28 describes the Crown Signia GT-S Concept, built by the Toyota Motorsports Garage: custom one-off MCS coilovers dropping it nearly five inches, widebody fenders, front and rear brake calipers adapted from the Lexus RX 500h F SPORT, and special-built 21-inch HRE wheels on 295-mm tires that Toyota says give an estimated 20 percent more contact patch than stock. Inside are highly bolstered front seats with red accents; Toyota labels the car a special project prototype whose parts may not be street legal.
What It Means for Subaru Owners
None of this is a WRX rival, and that is the point. Toyota is spending SEMA money where Subaru built a loyal second audience — lifted family cars — while its GR line covers the performance side we usually cover here. The production signal is narrower and more believable than five show cars: Toyota has already announced a Grand Highlander Woodland Edition for 2027, joining existing RAV4, Sienna and bZ Woodland models. If the SEMA Crown Signia's reception is strong, a rugged version of Toyota's most wagon-like SUV is the obvious next step. The 2026 SEMA Show runs November 3 to 6 at the Las Vegas Convention Center — we will be watching which of these looks draws the crowd.
