Air Suspension

The best air suspension for a WRX, STI, BRZ, FR-S, 86, Civic, or Accord is a vehicle-specific kit for your exact year and model, with management sized to how often you adjust height. Air Lift Performance and TruHart supply most complete kits here, KSport sells tiered Airtech systems, and Yellow Speed Racing sells air struts on their own for builds that already have management.

Air suspension replaces coil springs with air bags or struts, so height can be raised for clearance or lowered for stance at the touch of a controller. A system has three parts: struts or bags, a tank and compressor, and management that controls pressure. Check whether a listing is a full system, a front or rear kit only, or management hardware only.

TruHart is the largest name here with 85 listings, built around its AirPlus full air suspension systems. The range is Subaru-heavy, covering the BRZ from 2012 on as AirPlus kit TH-S1005, 2015-2021 WRX and 2008-2021 STI, and earlier STI and Forester applications. TruHart is the one-box route: a complete system named for your car.

Air Lift Performance, with 84 listings across two vendor spellings, splits its range the other way: front and rear kits sold separately by application, including 2013-2022 BRZ, FR-S, and 86, 2008-2014 STI, and Civic and Accord kits, plus universal management hardware. Its 3P systems bundle a controller with a 5-gallon aluminum tank and a VIAIR 444C compressor, with 3H height-sensor control, 2.5 to 5-gallon tanks, and 200 PSI dual compressor packs also listed.

KSport, with 39 listings, organises Airtech into Basic, Deluxe, and Executive systems, plus a struts-only option, so the tier names the hardware included. The Airtech Basic system for the 2008-2014 WRX anchors the range, with applications reaching the 1989-1994 Eclipse, Mk3 Supra, and early MR2. Yellow Speed Racing, with 30 listings, sells Dynamic Pro Air Struts only, including 2022 and newer WRX (VB) and 2015-2021 WRX and STI, for owners pairing struts with management chosen separately. Does an air strut kit include the tank and compressor?

Not always. Some listings are complete systems, some are front or rear kits only, and Yellow Speed Racing listings are struts only. Budget for management, a tank, and a compressor if they are not named as included.

What is the difference between 3P and 3H management?

In the Air Lift Performance listings here, 3P control works from air pressure, while 3H adds height sensors, and a height sensor adapter kit is listed separately. Choose based on whether you want pressure-based presets or height-based control, and confirm compatibility with your kit.

Can I drive at any height I set?

Air systems are normally aligned and driven at a set ride height, then raised or lowered for clearance or parking. Driving fully raised or fully dropped changes alignment and handling, so set a normal driving height and have the car aligned at that height.

Is air suspension a bolt-on install?

The struts are vehicle-specific, but a full install also means mounting a tank and compressor, running air lines and wiring, and mounting the controller. It is a longer job than coilovers, so plan a full day or professional installation.
