Subaru Unveils Limited-Edition WRX GD25 and BRZ ZC15 at Boxerfest 2026
Subaru pulled the covers off two limited-production anniversary editions at Boxerfest 2026 in York, Pennsylvania — and we were there to see it. The 2027 WRX GD25 (350 units) and 2027 BRZ ZC15 (300 units) honor 25 and 15 years of the WRX and BRZ in America, and both are manual-only. 2027 WRX GD25: 350 Units of Rally Heritage
The GD25 name nods to the GD-chassis WRX that first landed in the U.S. for the 2002 model year. This anniversary edition leans all the way into that lineage: exclusive World Rally Blue paint, gold-painted 19-inch alloy wheels, gold-painted Brembo brake calipers, and Bridgestone Potenza S007 tires.
The headline hardware is the dry carbon fiber swan-neck rear wing from Subaru Tecnica International — the same component fitted to Travis Pastrana's WRX ARA25L rally car. A flexible strut tower bar stiffens the front end, while stiffer springs and revised damping calibration sharpen the chassis. The 271-horsepower 2.4-liter turbocharged boxer pairs exclusively with a 6-speed manual and STI short shifter, and the cabin gets Recaro seats in black Ultrasuede with red stitching plus an STI shift knob. It arrives in summer 2027.
2027 BRZ ZC15: 300 Units, White on Bronze
The ZC15 honors the first-generation BRZ, which arrived in 2012 on the ZC chassis. It wears exclusive Ceramic White paint — a color unique to this car — with matte bronze wheels, gold-painted Brembo calipers, and bronze side-sill decals that pay homage to the 2020 BRZ tS. A black decklid spoiler and flexible V-bar complete the chassis package.
The 2.4-liter, 228-horsepower boxer drives the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual only — no automatic on the order sheet. Inside: black leather-appointed upholstery with Bordeaux red inserts, a ZC15 anniversary plaque, and an STI aluminum-and-leather short shifter. Deliveries start in early 2027.
What This Means for the Rest of Us
With only 650 cars between the two, almost nobody reading this will park a GD25 or ZC15 in their garage. But the formula is the interesting part: Subaru just validated the exact look the aftermarket has been building for years — swan-neck wings, gold wheels on World Rally Blue, bronze on white.
